BACKGROUND OF CHILALO FOOD COMPLEX
Chilalo Flour Factory was established in 2008 with a starting capital of 2,800,000 Ethiopian Birr. Its owned by Mr. Tedla Hailegiorgis; a young, energetic, and enthusiastic person born in Ego, a town near Kersa. He is born into an agrarian family and he started farming at a young age by supplying wheat grain to the nearby local market. After a few years in 2008, he established Chilalo Flour Factory with 28 employees.
The factory is named after Mount `Chilalo` which is an isolated, extinct silicic volcanic mountain in southeastern Ethiopia, Arsi Zone of Oromia regional state.
By the time, the flour factory was built on a 3,500 KM2 area of land at Asella town. The factory obtains raw materials from the local farmers. Since the area is very well-known for its grain quality, it helped Mr.Tedla`s factory supply high-quality wheat flour for its customers.
After three years, in 2011 Chilalo Food Complex was established with a 15,000 KM2 area of land granted by Asella City Administration investment permit from Oromia Regional State with an initial capital of 25,000,000 Ethiopian Birr, and in 2022 the total capital of the factory was 1,125,419,906 Ethiopian Birr.
Now a day, Chilalo Food Complex has 1500 permanent and 500 seasonal employees. The factory has, 5 biscuit production lines with a total capacity of 1350 quintals per day, these lines produce different portfolios of more than 26 types. `OK` is a registered brand and `Home of Quality is the motto of Chilalo Food Complex

There is one pasta production line, brand-new famous Italian latest technology with the brand name of `FAVA`. It has a total capacity of 720 quintals per day. Now it’s `OK PASTA` is the number one choice among customers throughout the country.

There is also another Macaroni line which was bought from a well-known Turkey company known as `Hemaks`. The line has a total capacity of 480 quintals per day. It produces different varieties of macaroni, such as; spiral, big elbow, small elbow, and medium elbow.

The factory has two projects which are in the final phase to be completed after one month. Ok, noodles, which is the second noodle-making machine next to the Indomin factory located in Deberezeite (Bishoftu). The noodles production line has a capacity of 500 quintals per day.
In addition to the food sector, Chilalo Food Complex has installed a paper and carton factory in Dukem town. This factory has a total production capacity of 50 Tons per day. It intended to supply quality carton boxes for our products as well as we will supply to other factories.
